The name Plai is the Thai word for the plant. A close relative to Ginger, although having different properties, and is a close relative to galangal. It has an extraordinarily high level of Terpinene-4ol, which is a component of Tea Tree and Sweet Marjoram. Plai generally has between 25-45% terpinene-4 ol in it. Due to its strong analgesic properties, Plai is a great addition to any massage blend and is a great substitute for Sweet Birch when Sweet Birch is contraindicated.

An absolute must essential oil to use if you are a massage therapist! Especially if you do Thai massage.
